Fulton Achievement Center

Fulton Achievement Center is a specialized treatment program and educational service collaboratively provided by Harbor and the Toledo Public Schools. The program offers a school-based partial hospitalization programs for grades K-6 and 7-12 in a separate facility for students who are exhibiting severe emotional disturbances or behavioral handicaps.

Students are referred primarily for emotional problems interfering with school performance such as anger, anxiety, or depression regarding school or family issues. Through the services offered, students can learn how to:

·        Increase effective interpersonal and problem solving skills

·        Develop healthy and adaptive coping skills

·        Manage mental health symptoms

Students are referred to FAC through the Toledo Public Schools Special Education Department. Families, counselors, or others may make referrals; however, these referrals will be subject to approval by the Special Education Supervisor. Each student who attends FAC has experienced difficulty in at least one other school because of emotional or behavioral issues such as:

·        Disruption of the classroom or difficulty staying focused on schoolwork

·        Aggressive behaviors, truancy, difficulty with authority figures, or poor peer relations

·        Frequent suspensions from school for a variety of other reasons
