Grief

NORTHWEST OHIO HEALS
The journey through loss and grief is a difficult and challenging time for individuals. That bereavement pilgrimage is often made more difficult by social attitudes that deny the validity of people’s grief experience and question its natural and necessary role in healing and restoring a person. In addition, the helping resources available in the community are not always well known or publicized. Northwest Ohio HEALS: Help and Encouragement After Loss wants to help change that situation. We are a newly-formed, collaborative, non-profit membership organization that, in the words of our Mission Statement, seeks "to help meet the needs of bereaved individuals and families by coordinating and developing community grief resources." Our goal is to identify, highlight and support the grief resources already available and help connect people with them. We also seek to foster education about grief issues as well as develop and nurture new and additional resources for our community as need would indicate. 419.724.3040 or www.nwoheals.org.
