Theresa Contreras MSN, RN-BC, joined Harbor in January 2022 as the Chief Healthcare Officer. Ms. Contreras will be leading Harbor’s new Lucas County Crisis Stabilization Center and Urgent Care venture.
Theresa has over 28 years of Behavioral Health experience. Her experiences range from front line community level to intensive care services at the hospital inpatient level. During this time she quickly excelled through various levels of executive leadership up to and including CEO of Arrowhead Behavioral Health Hospital.
Theresa earned both her Bachelor's and Master’s degree in Nursing from the University of Toledo. She is also board certified in Mental Health nursing. Theresa is skilled in Evidence Based Practice and Quality Improvement. She has held numerous positions on advisory committees as well as expert panels for Behavioral Healthcare delivery systems. Theresa has been recognized for her ability to develop strong effective teams and implement lasting cultural change. She is passionate about eradicating stigmas associated with mental illness and advocating for equality with individuals suffering from mental health and substance abuse disorders.
