Dave Timmerman, M.Ed., PCC, CRC
Vice President, Vocational Services

Dave is the Vice President of Vocational Services. Dave joined Harbor in May 2003 as a Vocational Manager. He was hired to develop a vocational program at Harbor. Using the recovery model, he worked to develop programming that provided support and opportunities to clients in setting and pursuing employment goals. He successfully secured a grant through the Lucas County Department of Job and Family Services to provide job placement services to ADC eligible families. The program continued to experience growth when a contract was obtained through Lucas County Department of Planning and Development to provide WIA services to at-risk youth in Lucas County. Vocational services continued to expand when the Career Connections program was established. This program is now one of the largest providers of vocational services to Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD). Career Connections, which serves individuals with disabilities, started in Toledo and now provides services to individuals in ten counties including: Defiance, Fulton, Hamilton, Hancock, Henry, Lucas, Ottawa, Putnam, Williams, and Wood counties.

Dave is a licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy from Miami University and his Master’s Degree in Community Agency Counseling from the University of Toledo.

Prior to joining Harbor Dave worked for several agencies in a vocational capacity. He started his career as a job coach, worked as a job developer, was a supervisor in a transitional employment program working with individuals experiencing homelessness, and worked as a vocational rehabilitation counselor serving individuals with mental health diagnoses. Dave believes in the value or work and opportunities provided through employment.
